Pastor Brett Opalinski grew up in Lakeland, Florida and has been a lifelong Methodist. He went to seminary at Candler School of Theology, at Emory University in Atlanta, and has a Ph.D. in New Testament and Early Christianity from Iliff School of Theology/University of Denver. When he's not working he enjoys running, fishing, playing guitar, growing vegetables, and swinging the kids on the rope swing in his back yard! His favorite scripture passage is: 1 John 4:16-21.

Beth Jurovcik was born in Western Pensylvania and graduated from West Virginia University and Westminster Choir College. Beth has served at MUMC since September 2003. She is Married to her husband, John Walsh and takes care of her 2 dogs, PJ and Gracie.

Fred Armstrong was born in Pensacola and moved to Nassau County when he was 6 years old. He has a beautiful wife, Linda, whom he has been married to for 44 years. Fred has 5 children and 13 grand-children. His favorite bible verse is John 14:6.

Darlene Jennings was born in Williston, ND, raised in Pennsylvania, and migrated south in the 1974. She has served MUMC since 1993. She has a husband, Dale, and two sons, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Her passions are cooking, eating, and helping people get to know Jesus.

Asociate Pastor Hollie Tapley grew up in Sylacauga, Alabama. She is a graduate of Auburn University, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with post graduate, certification and foundation studies from Candler School of Theology. Hollie’s passions for ministry include Christian Education, Discipleship, Spiritual Formation, Missions and Worship. Matthew 9:35 – 38 is the basis for her ministry: “Jesus went about . . .saw . . He had compassion.” In her free time Hollie enjoys time with her two beagles ( Schooner & Kylie) and being at the beach.

Monica Pomeroy is from Syracuse, NY and has lived in Fernandina since 2000. She lives with her Husband, Peter. Monica loves the beach and hanging out with her 6 grandkids!

Mary Ramirez is from Washington State and moved to Fernandina four years ago with her daughters, Rio (17) and Sarah (10). Her love of the beach brought her to the island and so that's where you might find them. They also enjoy their numerous cats, dogs and other various pets. Mary's favorite scripture is Hebrews 13:5-6.

Carol Olson was born in Pawnee, Nebraska, graduated from Layman's School in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was also an instructor at North Arkansas Community College and served on a church staff for four years. Carol moved to Fernandina in 2003 and has served MUMC since 2005. Carol has 2 daughters, Michelle and Lindsey and three grandchildren; Sheridan, Zayne and Bryson. Carol enjoys her 3 cats - Sunny, Mooney, and Starry-Starry Night. Carol's favorite scripture is John 3:16.
