Our Covenant

We the members of the Memorial United Methodist Church Family, covenant with one another to:

  • • Live out our membership vows of supporting the church through our prayers, presence, gifts, and service.
  • • To model the love of Jesus Christ in our words and our actions.
  • • To develop our faith through regular study (especially of the Scriptures) and prayer.
  • • To welcome and invite new people into our church family.
  • • To care for one another as a family.
  • • To participate regularly in acts of service towards others.
  • • To participate faithfully and regularly in the worship of the congregation.
  • • To give financially to the church family and to strive for a tithe (10% of income).
  • • To disagree respectfully and recognize differing points of view.
  • • To handle conflict in a healthy way.
  • • To be open to new understandings.

The goal of our faith journey is spiritual maturity, seen most clearly as an increase in the fruit of the spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control) in our words, actions and attitudes.
