Directions:
Memorial UMC is located on Centre Street, in historic downtown Fernandina Beach, between 6th and 7th Streets. The Church offices are located in the Partin Center (the historic white house next to the Sanctuary). Maxwell Hall is located behind Sanctuary off 6th Street.
What do I Wear to Worship?
You are invited to come as you feel comfortable. Being located on an island community, we understand that many of our guests are vacationing so they will come in casual attire. Others will wear dresses, coats and ties. Generally speaking, most will dress casually for the 8:30 and 9:45 services, and you will see more coats and ties at 11:00. You will be welcome in casual or dress attire at any of our worship services!
Children are Always Welcome in Worship:
One of our greatest blessings here at MUMC is the presence of children around our church on Sunday Mornings. Children are always welcome and encouraged to be a part of the services. We have children’s bulletins and crayons in the back of the sanctuary or Maxwell Hall (just see one of the ushers or greeters).
There is a Children’s message at all three services. It is also helpful to walk through the regular bulletin with kids to let them know where we are in the worship service, so that they have a sense of what is happening. Parents can also teach kids the prayers and songs (Lord’s Prayer and the Doxology) during the week in preparation for worship. Further, for parents who would prefer, a nursery is available at all three morning worship services.
